Nintendo Direct Mini From Out of Nowhere!

So here's a nice unexpected surprise. Today, on the Wii U eShop, a new Nintendo Direct has been made available. Coincidentally, the Wii U eShop's news tab revealed the release of a game that I thought would be arriving later this year...
The Direct is hosted by Satoru Shibata, Nintendo of Europe's president.
First, he thanked everyone who bought AC:NL, and gave us the dream address for the Nintendo town: 7900-2106-3477.
There'll be exclusive designs available.
We were then shown screenshots of other players' homes.
Players are able to share images on social networking sites from Animal Crossing, by using the Nintendo Image Share Service - https://i.nintendo.net

A 3DS System Update is due soon. This will allow StreetPass Relay to be used at Nintendo Zones, which means players will be able to StreetPass without being near any other people.

New series on eShop - Sega 3D Classics
- Altered Beast
- Ecco the Dolphin
- Galaxy Force
- Shinobi
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Space Harrier
- Streets of Rage
- Super Hang On
We weren't given an exact release date for these, just a vague "released soon"...

Focusing on the Wii U, attention turned to Pikmin 3. There are 12 stages available in the multiplayer Bingo Battle mode, each one with 3 variations.
For single player and co-op, there will be global leaderboards, comparing score, total Pikmin grown and other such things.
For the European Club Nintendo members, there will be Pikmin 3 keyrings available in August. I have well over 10,000 stars saved, I think I may be able to get at least one.

Next was a new trailer for The Wonderful 101. It showed how the heroes used their powers in order prevent a runaway school bus (a really long bus) from crashing into a school. The release date for The Wonderful 101 is August 23rd, with a Nintendo Direct focusing on it coming up soon.

Anyway who downloads Pikmin 3 from the eShop will be able to get 30% off The Wonderful 101's eShop price as well. Since I tend to find the cheapest physical version, this offer doesn't really appeal to me. Plus, I like having something tangible.

Details for three Wii U eShop titles were revealed next. First was Cloudberry Kingdom, a platformer that could be described as platform hell. It has 5 difficulties, 10 heroes and co-op for up to 3 players. It is due for release on August 1st.
Next was Duck Tales Remastered, a remake of the original 8-bit Duck Tales NES game. It features the character's original voice actors, and scenery from the actual cartoon. It looks pretty good, although I may feel differently if I had experienced the original. It's due for release on August 15th.
The last eShop game was Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party. It is 2 - 8 players, and is spin the bottle... and probably more expensive than an empty bottle. It's due out in August, but I'm not really bothered by it.

The best news was saved until last. Today, Europe will see the release of EarthBound for the first time. Originally a SNES game, it details the adventure of Ness as he goes on an adventure to save the world from aliens... I think. It's an RPG, and something that I have quite a keen interest in downloading.
As for its release date... well, 18th of July, 5PM UK time... wait a minute... that's roughly ten minutes from now! I better get the funds ready on my Wii U eShop account... Bye!
